JO-HS is a contemporary gallery, gift shop and artist residency, located in San Miguel Chapultepec, Mexico City, founded by Danish curator Elisabeth Johs. It lies at the intersection of art and design supporting emerging contemporary artists.
JO-HS gallery and residency is located in Mexico City with offices in New York.
JO-HS’s mission is to create an innovative space where clients, artists, curators, art enthusiasts can visit to explore both local and international emerging artists across a multitude of different mediums
JO-HS offers residency programmes throughout the year with studio spaces and rooms for rent to local and international artists, providing an experimental exhibition program and a collaborative space for events and happenings
JO-HS resides in a previous architectural building in the neighbourhood of San Miguel Chapultepec in close proximity to many galleries and artist studios. The house has been renovated by the JO-HS team to manifest an aesthetic where art can thrive.
JO-HS’s program opened in Autumn 2021 with the inaugural exhibition VIVARIUM. JO-HS continues to regularly exhibit and promote the work of emerging and established artists and creators through its varied exhibitions and residencies.
